About WeHOP
The “We” comes first
Montgomery County is one of the fastest-growing counties in the nation — and most of its people are between the ages of 5 and 17. Yet youth development resources here are scarce. WeHOP exists to close that gap: mentoring young people who need guidance, whether they're chasing their goals or finding their way back after a stumble.

Our mission statement
The youth we mentor are those who need guidance — some seeking advice for their future goals and ambitions, some who have stumbled along the way and face repercussions from the legal system. Through mentorship, residential service, counseling, education and life skills, we help them understand and achieve their full potential as valued contributors to society.
Why we're needed
The need, in plain numbers
The Juvenile Probation Department reports that the one thing most juveniles on probation have in common is a lack of involvement within their community — and that most of their issues stem from bad influences and a lack of structured activities.

Four things we won't trade away
Consistency over spectacle
Trust is built by showing up on the same dates, year after year. We'd rather run the same drives and gatherings every season for a decade than host one unforgettable day.
Youth voice
Programs are shaped with young people in the room, not only for them. Their ideas change what we do.
Local roots
We work in Conroe and Porter and the surrounding neighborhoods of Montgomery County — where the need is and where the relationships are.
